119:365 The Rockstar
An interesting day for me today, nipped into college for a wee while and ordered myself a MPP Microtechnical Mk VIII 5x4 field camera which i'm totally looking forward to.
after seeing the weather gave Scott McKillop a wee txt and we ended up at the side of linlithgow loch doing these for my graded unit.
Really like how they work.

116:365 Charlie's Back with a Bang
Well she certainly has a flair for the spectacular and I just LOVE this shot.
It was the http://www.togsnmods.co.uk/ Group Shoot today at the Brickworks and so a huge thanks to all who turned up especially Charlie (a trooper as ever) and Kayleigh (she came even though she underwent an operation on Tuesday - that's dedication).
This was shot using flash from Camera left bounced into a silver/gold brolly and on camera right with a 1/4 CTO gel fired through a shoot through brolly.
Really pleased with this final shot, beginning to feel better about things now.
Oh and congratulations to Charlie and keith who got engaged last weekend :)

113:365 Salmon Cut
Partly to help out the restaurant, Livingston's in Linlithgow, and partly for my college style life, i had the opportunity to shoot some still life food.
This is - Whisky and Orange Cured Salmon, Rocket, Orange and Shallot Vinaigrette from the starter menu.
Really are nice folks at Livingstons and i can testify to the desserts being utterly awesome.

110:365 Fun with Smarties
Another still life type image, seems to be something i'm doing a lot of on here even though i'm not a big fan, just think they are easier for me to do :)
This time it's a replicant of something i seen in a previous magazine, maybe Digital SLR photography (i think).
It's Smarties in a white tube (made from a4 white paper) with a cd holder front on the top and some syringe dropped water, with a flash from hitting it from around a foot away.
I do quite like this though :)

109:365 A Smile to Melt Hearts
Really happy with todays shot, not often i manage to get a decent shot of this young man smiling :)
He has such an infectious smile in reality but never keeps it for the pics.
Shot in the kitchen with lots of daylight streaming in the windows and a flash with a 1/4 CTO gel on for a bit of warmth.

108:365 A Cat on Mars
Today was a good day, Scott and Bruce and I had the utter pleasure of a shoot with Catriona Rennie and what a superstar she is.
She put up with all of our fussing about and silly and unusual ideas, especially things like my completely odd lighting with blue lights.
The shots here are my first run through, i'm really happy with how they look.
I will be adding more info on how the "mars" shot was done to TnM later once i have the set-up shot from Bruce.
Would love to work with Cat again soon.

103:365 A Trip to Edinburgh
Despite not having my triggers to play with Scott and I went to Edinburgh to do a shoot with Sam.
Really happy with the whole series of images, with 3 that I'm really happy with.
I love the red shadow in this one, made possible by using a red gelled flash behind Sam.
I really enjoyed this shoot, it has re-invigorated me again and i can't wait to do more :)

099:365 I Love Graffiti
Todays shot i'm much happier with...
Scott and I had the pleasure of Karen modeling for us for a while... we first went to my favourite graffiti'd walls then onto the brickworks where things failed drastically.
Scott had accidentaly lost my flash trigger, just one of those things, and by the time i got the cables out for the flashes my concentration was out the window....
So Karen and I will get together again sometime for a shoot and in the meantime i've ordered some more triggers.

095:365 Swing It
Scott helped me out today with some testing for one of my graded unit shots which will involve someone playing golf.
Strobist wise this shot uses a metz flash camera left on strob (8hz 4 repeats 1/16 power) and flash camera right on full power set to slave on the 4th flash to give a second curtain effect. Added to f8, 0.5 sec exposure got this effect.
Quite happy with this.

091:365 Colourful Fun
Had spent a good few hours tonight trying to get another of my still life images to work and i've got nothing at all out of it ...
They just don't seem to be working at all.
So i ended up shooting this for todays shot instead... it's Glitter glue pens stood lid side down on our kitchen table with a flashgun fired through from behind.
I like the texture and glitter...
